Hot Off the Press
Here is my completed shirt, back from the printers finally. (It's a long story!) I think they turned out pretty nice, if I do say so myself. Just in time, since we leave for Disneyland on Wednesday. I can't wait to wear this at the park.

The back of the shirt
Here are the backs of the ninja Mickey shirts. My wife helped me design them. In case you can't tell what it is, it is Mickey ears. The ears are the year (09) and the big circle for the head says "You can't see me, I'm a ninja." The characters inside the circles are Japanese approximations of our names in katakana (Japanese characters).
This one says Michael (my brother):
This one says Jake:
I can't wait to see the completed shirts. For the record, these shirts are for a trip to Disneyland my brother and I are taking in a couple weeks. In November 2007, our family went to Disneyland and we made shirts. They turned out so well and we got so many comments about them all day long that we decided it was a fun tradition to start, making matching shirts for the whole group (whatever the size of the group may be).

Ninja Mickey is completed!
Okay, finally after a couple of weeks the finished product. It took a while to get it all to play together, you might be surprised how tricky it is to use all black tones and still manage some level of distinction. It was also hard to free form mickey this way... it is not a natural Mickey pose.
Anyway I am pleased with the result and I can't wait to get it off to the presses. Let me know what you think.
Maybe next time I will do several more stages than just the sketch and final. I am planning another Disney piece soon to go on a shirt for my daughter's second birthday next month.

Ninja Mickey
First, I admit this is not the best picture, but I no longer have a working scanner and it was hard to capture this using my camera. After all, it is just a pencil sketch at this stage, and the lines aren't very thick or dark.
Next step is color, which I am in the middle of currently. When the drawing is complete, it will then be transferred to a shirt. I will take some pictures of the final drawing with color and then get some of the shirts once we get them back from the printer. The backs of the shirts are already designed and look awesome.

Ethereon
My friend, Matt Swain, wrote a short book entitled Ethereon back a few years ago. He asked me to draw the cover for him. This what I came up with. He paid to have a handful of copies published and I have one. It is pretty cool to see my work on the cover of a published book, even if was one that was self-published.
Butterflies
This is not the best photo of this piece, but you get the idea. I know I have a really good scan of this somewhere, but I can't find it right now.
I did this one way back in 2002. It was originally supposed to be one of a set of three. But the other two have never made it past the planning stages. I would still like to finish the set someday, if I ever can figure out what I want to do with the third one.
